Pizazz shop is moving to Freemius eCommerce platform

Pizazz shop is moving to Freemius eCommerce platform

With the imminent release of Architect v1.10, I am moving to the online sales platform provided by Freemius.

Previously I was using Easy Digital Downloads. The reason for move is simply Freemius provides more features and in a single package, with much simpler licesing.

Currently, only Architect has been migrated, but the others will follow.

For existing Architect licence holders, if you bought form the Pizazz shop, the transition should be smooth and automatic. When you install the update, it will handle the migration.

    I know… famous last words!

However, I have done testing on many of my own sites, as well as some beta testers without any problems, as it wil use your old Pizazz shop licence. Therefore, if required to enter it, that is the licence to enter.

The only “problem” encountered so far is you may need to re-activate Architect in the plugins page.

I have made a small change to the unlimited licence, increasing it from $99/yr to $119, and its lifetime price also rises from $249 to $299.

Furthermore, the other licence levels now have a lifetime option. $99 for the Personal (2 sites) and $199 for the Business (4 sites)

If you encounter any problems, contact me at support@pizazzwp.com

    Headway users

If you purchased your Architect licence through Headway, you will not be affected by this as long as you use Headway as your theme. However, as previously posted, you should contact me to migrate from the Headway Extend store licence to a Pizazz shop licence.

Cross grade your Architect licence from the Headway Extend store

Cross grade your Architect licence from the Headway Extend store

With the uncertain future of the Headway Theme, it is important to transfer your Architect licence from the Headway licence system to the Pizazz licence system. Some users are already reporting licences are no longer working.

To do so, email support@pizazzwp.com with a copy of your most recent invoice for Architect purchase or renewal and a code will be sent to enable you to get an equivalent licence.

Architect 1.8 has better Blueprint editor and responsive options

Architect 1.8 has better Blueprint editor and responsive options

Architect v1.8 is out now and bring many tweaks and fixes, plus several new features, most notable are an improved and easier Blueprint editor and easier control of titles and content font size responsiveness.

Blueprint editor now has tabs for components and layout type

    architect-new-blueprint-editor

For a long time, I’ve wondered if Architect would be even easier if each component type had its own tab in the Blueprint editor. So, I decided to find out. And the answer is a resounding yes.

Now you should find it even easier to get to the settings for titles, meta, features, body/excerpt, custom fields, and for the layout type you are using. What’s more, if you have Architect styling enabled, the relevant styling is also under each tab

Note: The documentation will be updated as soon as possible

Fluid fonts are even more responsive

    architect-fluid-fonts

Instead of setting specific font sizes for content and titles at specific breakpoints, now you can let Architect take care of it, by simply setting an upper and lower limit for your font sizes, and the breakpoints for those limits. Between those breakpoints, the fonts will automatically and fluidly scale in size. In the future, I will extend this feature to other textual components.

Show content without leaving the page

    architect-content-sliding

There is now an option, when you click read a more link, instead of opening the post, the content will slide down within the panel without leaving the page. You can choose to open it within the panel’s width, or zoom to 100% of your content area’s width.

    In action

You can see both the sliding content and the fluid fonts it in action on the NEM Creative website.

While you’re there, if you have a phone, check out how Architect’s adaptive design changes the product services from a grid on the desktop and tablet, to a slider on the phone.

For a refresher, check the tutorial on using Architect’s adaptive design.

    Other new features

ADDED: Excerpt trimming for Characters, Paragraphs, More tag
ADDED: Option to remove shortcodes from Excerpts.
ADDED: Option to link images to a custom link per image. Requires the WP Gallery Custom Links plugin
ADDED: Option for Blueprint footer text. Can include limited HTML and shortcodes.
ADDED: Custom field types now include a text type that will add paragraphs
ADDED: Image Carousel preset the same as on the demos site.

Architect 1.6 is out with Beaver Builder module

Architect 1.6 is out with Beaver Builder module

For all those who found Architect and Beaver Builder great partners, it’s even easier now with Architect’s own module.

    Architect Beaver Builder module

New features: Packed masonry and scaled images

If you look at that image, you’ll also notice the two other new features of Architect 1.6.

In Image Cropping, you can now choose to scale the images, rather than crop them. These are best utilised when displaying the featured image within the content, or in the new Packed Masonry mode in Masonry settings.

Masonry mode in Architect sticks to the column arrangement you’ve set, so the masonry effect is only vertical. With Packed Masonry mode it ignores the columns, and packs both vertically and horizontally.

    Why Beaver Builder and Architect?

Some people wonder why Beaver and Architect. Beaver already has modules that do sliders, grids, accordions and tabbed.

Architect’s aim is to give you as much control as possible. It is a power tool for power users. It is firstly aimed at professional site builders. (It has also proved very popular with DIYers.)

Beaver’s modules are limited, and quite rightly. They are to get you started, and will satisfy most DIYers. But when you need more, when you need fine control, when you need to answer questions like, “How do I show custom fields?”, “Can I link the whole panel to the post?”, “Can I use any date format?”, “Can I have numbers/thumbs/titles as navigation for sliders?” and so on, that’s when you need Architect.

I am hearing many clients are finding Headway, Beaver Builder, and Architect gives them the complete toolkit for building websites

Also just released is ExcerptsPlus 3.4.12. This has an important fix in it for pagination that stopped working with WP 4.4.
